The challenge

A lively and recognisable brand was needed for the borough’s long term vision. The challenge was to create a brand with a strong enough identity to engage residents, but also still sat comfortably within the council’s corporate identity and was generic enough to appeal to its extremely broad audience.

The solution

The simple geometric arrow design reflects the forward looking nature of the project without being clichéd. The colours match the Epsom & Ewell BC logo colours for greater corporate integration. The triangles also provide an engaging visual theme which is used across the range of supporting material. This gives the brand excellent recall and recognition which is vital to public engagement.

The marketing collateral included website graphics, social media graphics, banners, posters, advertisements, consultation postcards, leaflets and promotional items.

Mary’s design work for our Future40 brand scores a 10 out of 10 from me!

Right from the start she understood what was needed, both in terms of creative input and the process of working with the local authority culture. Mary offered a great range of initial concepts and then worked very responsively to refine the chosen design. She took on board the comments of the different stakeholders involved in this high-profile project and skilfully wove them in to the design without compromising the impact and creativity of the concept.
